Not to be repetitive but word press is great for beginner level and even basic sites. IB Pages is really build-able and can take a variety of code. I actually was able to import/port a section of an old php site into it seamlessly. Anyone play with IB Pages 4, yet? I do not have any experience with that so far.

Wordpress is the way to go I think. Its the most basic thing to use but also very easy. You can make some pretty cool looking sights.

I see lots of you guys going with Wordpress over anything else, why ? i've used both Joomla and Wordpress, and my personal preference is Joomla, because everything is easily accessible in it, whereas Wordpress seems clunky and quite complex, especially if you want to use it to build anything more than a bog standard blog.

Anyway, does anyone fancy giving me their opinions on it ?

One word - Wordpress. For me, Wordpress is the best CMS that I have ever used. Easy customization, a lot of plugins and themes. If You want to make large magazine or smth like this - You can get some problems with optimization but anyway - Wordpress is the best solution :)

Wordpress would be my choice simply because of the amount of information, themes, tools, plugins etc out for it. its been out long enough for real advancements to be made along with many tutorials.

octopress is pretty good too. like wordpress but not a goddamn security nightmare.

It`s a simple rule: more people using Wordpress. more hackers trying to hack it.
I found OctoberCMS it´s a nice option.

I personally using joomla but if you want some custom options and advanced stuff you have to put your hand inside core files.

I would say its either Joomla or Wordpress , I think joomla as way better themes for gamers etc tons of extensions etc. However word press preforms much better and upgrades are much easier va joomla.

I prefer Joomla. For me is the best CMS, a lot of extensions (free and paid), nice themes with a lot of categories.

Joomla released 3.7.3 version with security vulnerabilities and over 230 bug fixes and improvements from the last version 3.7.2

Give it a try. B)

Wordpress does all the work for you. If you are willing to put in the time to edit a pre-made theme and make it look nice and unique, its by far the best
