With the release of patch 1.02 for Valorant, we were just moments away from getting ranked play back in the game. But following the launch of the patch and before Riot enabled the ranked servers a game breaking bug was found, which has further pushed back the launch of ranked play in Valorant.
Ranked play was initially expected to go live along with patch 1.02 yesterday, but once the server maintenance period was over there was no sign of ranked, with Riot Games wanting to make sure that everything was okay with the patch and there were no massive issues.
Initially, some bugs were found, which were quickly hot fixed by the developers, such as players being able to use ghost mode also known as no clip, a cheat in custom games that allows you to fly around the map, if they had it bound to a key when in regular matches. This was game breaking in of itself, but was just a simple fix for Riot who turned off cheats in private lobbies until a full fix can be launched.
There is currently no expected release date for ranked, with the mode planned to be turned on once this, and any other bugs, have been fixed. Unfortunately, we do not know how long that will take, it could be a couple of days or it could be further weeks of waiting to finally get into some ranked matches. Despite launching the game in a good state, there have been other bugs that have popped up and most have been fixed relatively quickly, so fingers crossed it will be the same for this one.
