While my current rig is amazing, rocking the following specs, I always dream of having a bleeding edge NVIDIA RTX Card (gaming + video editing) or high-end Quadro card (video editing)....
Every rig I've ever made, ended up becoming a home server when I chose to upgrade. My old workstation is now my Home Server NAS (named it "Rogue"):

However, my new dream (wishful thinking) rig is to be a fully-featured, balls-to-the-wall virtualized beast with hardware passthrough to virtual machines and a whack-ton of storage for all my video editing and backup purposes:
CPU: DUAL AMD EPYC 7773X (64 Cores / 128 Threads @ 2.1GHz - 3.4GHz boost + Overclocked to 4GHz -/- 128 Cores / 256 Threads total)
RAM: 1024GB (16x64GB Supermicro ECC DDR4-2666MHz 16X MEM-DR464L-HL03-LR26)
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE MZ72-HB2 (2x 10Gb/s ports plus a 1Gb/s remote management/IPMI port, 3x SlimSAS (total of 12 total SATAIII 6Gb/s ports) and 2x SlimSAS (total of 2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4)
PCI CARD #1: Sound Card (model undetermined at the moment)
PCI CARD #2: NVIDIA RTX 3090Ti (PCI Passthrough to a Virtual Machine for Gaming / Video Editing)
PCI CARD #3: NVIDIA QUADRO RTX 4000 (PCI Passthrough to a Virtual Machine for Video Editing and PLEX/Jellyfin Transcoding)
PCI CARD #4: Adaptec SMARTHBA 2200-16i or 2200-32i (for connecting the NVMe SSDs and HDDs to the system

POWER SUPPLY: BE QUIET! Dark Power Pro 12 1500W (BN647) Fully Modular ATX Fully Digital Modular
I haven't decided on a case yet, but I plan for it to be a 4U Server Chassis capable of holding 24+ 3.5" HDD Bays.
After reading all of that, you must be thinking this endeavor will cost a TON of money... And while, yes it does, I could probably recoup the ROI in a few months of freelance work.
