I was watching a gangster film and this debate came up of "Is it better to be loved or to be feared?"
I agreed with what the mob boss said. "It's better to be feared because fear last longer than love"
I really do agree with that and I personally would choose fear over love.

If you are feared then more than likely you will live with fake reactions around you all the time. No one is going to disagree with you and all you would end up with is a bunch of "yes-men" around you. On the other hand, if you are loved, the people around you will genuinely want to help you even if it means telling you no as you hold value to them. People won't be willing to loose someone they love but will easily get rid someone they fear.
