to be honest, the amount of years and development of PHPbb is crazy. Not to mention it being open source, so you can change any part of it you like and not have issues.
But with IPB... not so much of both ends

Hello,

With 14k members I would go with IPS. The main reason is because phpBB is only a forum, while IPB since version 4.x is more oriented for a community and not only a simple forum.
Xenforo could be an alternative but actually I would say that IPB is better than any.

I told you I would suggest a forum discussion if this is really the engine of the abstraction of ipb, comfortable than a simple comparison than phpbb

Are you serious? IPB all the way.. PhpBB even though it's open source doesn't even have a tenth of the features of IPB.. It looks like crap too honestly.

I have a linux server and I have been using phpBB for 2 years on there, and U haven't had any problems with it. I want to test IPB, but from what I've seen, for me, IPB looks much better and gas more theme configuration options. phpBB has a powerful admin system, is stable and does not consume a bunch of resources.

I have said that it is free, anyway I use ipb from you and I keep with ipb or ips, the php stuff I mean in general, I do not want it in bad name
in this case the support will produce you! RESPECT!

phpBB is a freeware engine, and ipb costs a lot of money. Of course, it is possible to get ipb for free, but it does not always burn out the idea. ipb more transparent, prettier.

IPB is so much better that it has a huge engine with additional options that diversify the use of the forum.
