Mintshost.pl, polish website with low cost vps. Better use KVM.

I have been using Hetzner over 6 month to host my dedicated gaming server's CS:GO and ARK never had an issue and its worth using, Plus ddos protection is good and support is fast the reliable.

Ovh is cheap and fast to set up, but the problem is that they have a bad mitigation system, which even blocks important connections on DDoS attacks. Users might get connection problems there.

I know I am late to the game here but maybe this could help others.

The following is only my opinion and prices are subject to change.

I have actually used all three of the following companies. Hetzner is great for dedicated but the OP was looking for a VPS and there are better and cheaper options.

OVH used to offer the best prices, a short window a few years back, but things have changed.

I am not "all in" on Contabo, clunky user interface, very little to no support (won't even return emails) unless you purchase manage, you miss your due date by a minute its a complete wipe, but if anyone is looking to get a quality, cheap, good uptime VPS, Contabo offers the best deal (at this point in time).

Hetzner
Package CX41
4 cores
16gb Ram
160 GB Disk (I assume SATA)
20 TB (did not provide speed so assuming 100 Mbit/s port)
Data Centers: Finland and Germany

15.90 EUR / month

OVH
Package: VPS SSD APAC 3
4 vCore(s) - 3.5 GHz
8 GB RAM
80 GB SSD
4 TB traffic (did not provide speed so assuming 100 Mbit/s port)
Data Centers: Australia and South-East Asia

20.00 EUR / month

Contabo
Package: VPS M SSD
4 cores
12gb Ram
300gb SSD
Unlimited Traffic (but 100 Mbit/s port)
120 Gbit/s Upstream
1 snapshot backup
/64 network
Data Centers: Germany

E8.99 EUR / month

Hope this helps some.  :)

Oh yeah, I am assuming defiantly shared when "core" talk is being tossed around. Almost guaranteed if anything was dedicated it would be clearly stated.

I did find some additional information Contabo and OVH.

Contabo has a page which describes in detail the specs from the package:
 •
CPU: four cores
 • Intel® Xeon® E5-2620v3, E5-2630v4 or 4114 processor
 • 12 GB RAM (guaranteed)
 • 300 GB disk space (100% SSD)
 • 100% SSD disk space
Literally, OVH came out with this since I posted above:

It's a KVM based VPS with North American and Europe based data centers. Plus they have a special right now where you can save a $1.00+ a month if you buy at the 12 months pre-pay rate.

They both specify guaranteed resources but no mention of dedicated. Hetzner has no mention of dedicated anything also.  If allowed to burst to all 4 cores when needed, for short periods of time, these prices are worth it IMO.

Dedicated at these prices  I think we would be generally talking in the 1/2cpu VPS.

Also, how could someone forget the Free Elephant in the room, AWS.

AWS Free Tier Eligible
 • Amazon Linux AMI 2018.03.0 (HVM), SSD Volume Type - ami-cfe4b2b0
 • The Amazon Linux AMI is an EBS-backed, AWS-supported image.
 • The default image includes AWS command line tools, Python, Ruby, Perl, and Java.
 • The repositories include Docker, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other packages.
 • Root device type: ebs Virtualization type: hvm ENA Enabled: Yes

I didn't even realize they offered this here and just found out:
 • 100GB SSD Disk Space
 • 3 GB DDR4 RAM
 • 2 vCores @ 3.5 GHz
 • 1 Dedicated IPv4
 • Unmetered @ 250 Mbps
How much is it? 5 euros monthly (if needs be we can work out a price that fix your needs monthly)

I did use a lot.
OVH seems the most stable one. BlazerFast was also good but too much downtime.
Now I'm using OVH and it is working flawless
